La Bella Via

The Belle Via offers a 123 km escapade through the Dauphiné Alps, a charming alternative to the traditional ViaRhôna route.

This picturesque itinerary takes you through the Isère region, against a backdrop of breathtaking views of the iconic peaks of the Alps. You’ll marvel at the diversity of the scenery, from sparkling lakes to lush vineyards, via the majestic
the majestic mountains of Belledonne and Chartreuse.

There are two starting points for your adventure: La Balme-de-Sillingy in Haute-Savoie or Chanaz in Savoie. You can cover up to 364 km, depending on which section you choose.

Continue your journey to Grenoble, where culture, mountains and city life meet in harmony. Climb to the Bastille for a breathtaking panoramic view of the city.
Following the meandering Isère from Grenoble, you’ll discover the valley’s typical landscapes, from the foothills of the Vercors to walnut groves as far as the eye can see. Stop off at the Grand Séchoir in Vinay to learn more about walnut growing, then
explore the Nan and Bourne gorges for impressive natural architecture.
End your journey in the villages of Saint-Marcellin and Beauvoir-en-Royans, where you can visit the Couvent des Carmes and discover the fascinating phenomenon of petrifying fountains at La Sône.
