L'Echappée Belle is an ultra-trail race through the Belledonne massif. The event is reknown for its highly technical nature, the challenge posed by its difficult-to-access trails, and the high altitude at which it takes place.

Launched in 2013, the Échappée Belle quickly established itself as one of the most beautiful and challenging trail races in the world of ultra running. From its very first edition, this race has drawn attention with a highest point at 2,930 meters above sea level at the Croix de Belledonne and a crossing of the Freydane Glacier. Participants must cross 15 mountain passes and cover 40 kilometers at altitudes above 2,000 meters to complete this adventure. The record for the full course is held by François D’Haene with a time of 23h55min11s. 4 race formats: > L’Échappée Belle Intégrale: 150 km and 11,200 m of elevation gain, from Vizille to Aiguebelle. > La Traversée Nord: 96 km and 7,200 m of elevation gain, from Allevard to Aiguebelle. > The Parcours des Crêtes, 63 km and 4,770 m of elevation gain, from Allevard to Aiguebelle. > The Maratrail, 42 km and 2,790 m of elevation gain, from ValGelon-La-Rochette to Aiguebelle. > The Rocher Blanc Skyrace, 21 km and 2,000 m of elevation gain, starting and finishing in Fond-de-France (Haut-Bréda)
