Discovery of medicinal and culinary plants (by reservation only): Thursdays during the summer holidays from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm Outside school holidays, by reservation on weekdays Located in the heart of the Chartreuse Regional Natural Park, Col de Marcieu is the perfect place to discover the world of wild plants. From mid-April to mid-October, upon request, we offer a workshop accessible from the age of 6, designed to help participants become familiar with wild, culinary, and aromatic plants. The experience begins in the botanical garden of the ecotourism center and continues around the Col de Marcieu area. Over the course of 2.5 hours, you will learn how to recognize plants, identify them by name, and discover their culinary and medicinal uses. Depending on the season and upon request, the workshop can also include an edible plant gathering session, followed by the preparation of salads, cakes, pies, fresh herb cheeses, fritters, and more using the harvested ingredients. To go further and encourage a “do-it-yourself” approach, we also offer a workshop on essential oils and the creation of your own natural balm. The idea is to discover the benefits of essential oils and make a practical balm for both children and adults: useful for cuts, colds, minor burns, insect bites, and more… a true all-purpose balm! Visits are available in several languages.
